Use Pup with an AI agent

The Pup skill gives your coding agent instructions for setting up Pup, writing supertests, and checking your code.

Install the Pup skill#

With Node.js and npm installed, run:

npx skills add https://docs.schematic.tech --skill pup-supertests --global

Choose your coding agent in the installer, then start a new agent session. The skill is available across your local projects for the agents you select.

To share the skill with contributors to one repository, omit --global and run the command from that repository. Rerun the installation command to get the latest version.

Check your code#

Ask your agent to use Pup on the part of your project you want to check:

Use Pup to check our parser and fix any bugs it finds.

If you have a particular requirement in mind, describe it:

Use Pup to check that decoding an encoded message always returns the original message.

If Pup isn’t set up yet, your agent can follow Get started. You may need to generate an API key in the Schematic platform and log in.

If your agent doesn’t pick up the skill automatically, ask it to use pup-supertests.
